Overview
About In-Hand Salary Calculator
CTC is what the company spends on you in a year, not what you get. Out of it come the employer's PF share and gratuity, which are yours but not paid each month. That leaves your gross salary. From the gross, your own 12% PF, professional tax and income tax are cut, and the rest is your in-hand salary.
Income tax is worked out on the FY 2026-27 slabs, which Budget 2026 kept the same as last year. Under the new regime, salaried people get a ₹75,000 standard deduction and pay no tax up to ₹12 lakh of taxable income, so a salary up to ₹12.75 lakh is tax-free. Above that, marginal relief, surcharge (with its own marginal relief) and the 4% cess are all included.
Under the old regime it takes off the ₹50,000 standard deduction, professional tax, HRA exemption on the rent you pay, 80C (your PF counts towards the ₹1.5 lakh limit) and any other deductions you enter. Both regimes are worked out every time so you can see which leaves you more.
The new labour codes count at least half of your pay as wages, so many companies now set basic at 50% of CTC. A higher basic means more PF and gratuity and a little less in hand. Everything runs in your browser; nothing you type is sent anywhere.

Good to know
- It is an estimate. Your payslip depends on your company's exact salary structure, so check it against your offer letter.
- Allowances such as food coupons, LTA, phone or car lease, and employer NPS are not worked out separately.
- Income from other sources (interest, rent, capital gains) is not included, and the old regime is for people under 60.
- Professional tax differs by state and salary; type the amount for your state.
- Your employer cuts tax (TDS) based on what you declare, so some months can differ from the average shown.
Fix a problem
Troubleshooting
My payslip shows a different amount
Match the basic %, the PF option and the gratuity box with your offer letter. Most differences come from these three.
In-hand looks too low
Check if your CTC includes a variable pay or bonus. Enter it in Variable pay so it is left out of the monthly figure.
My PF is ₹1,800 a month
Your company works out PF on ₹15,000 basic. Choose 12% of ₹15,000.
The old regime gives a lower tax than I expected
Make sure you have not counted your PF twice: it is already added to 80C for you.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What is the in-hand salary for 10 lakh CTC?
About ₹71,129 a month under the new regime, with basic at 50%, PF on full basic, gratuity inside the CTC and ₹2,400 professional tax. There is no income tax at this salary.
How is in-hand salary calculated from CTC?
CTC minus employer PF and gratuity gives the gross salary. Gross minus your PF, professional tax and income tax gives the in-hand salary. Divide by 12 for the month.
Up to what salary is there no tax in FY 2026-27?
Under the new regime, up to ₹12 lakh of taxable income has no tax. With the ₹75,000 standard deduction, a salary up to ₹12.75 lakh is tax-free.
How much PF is cut from salary?
12% of your basic, and your employer adds another 12%. Many companies work it out on a basic of ₹15,000, which is ₹1,800 a month.
Which tax regime is better?
The new regime is better for most people now. The old regime can win if you pay high rent and use the full 80C, health insurance and home loan interest deductions. The calculator shows both.
Why is gratuity part of my CTC?
Many companies set aside 4.81% of basic each year for gratuity. You get it only when you leave, usually after 5 years of service, so it is not part of the monthly salary.
Will the new labour codes reduce my in-hand salary?
They can. If your basic goes up to 50% of CTC, PF and gratuity go up too, and the in-hand part comes down by the same amount. Your total savings grow.
Is my salary saved or uploaded?
No. The calculation happens in your browser and nothing is stored or sent.
