The tool checks the file it makes against these numbers. A passing file is not a guarantee that the RRB NTPC portal will accept it.
Good to know for RRB NTPC
- The photo is captured live by webcam or the phone's front camera. Old photos are not accepted.
- For the live photo: a pure plain white background, dark (not white) clothes, the head filling at least half the photo and nothing below the chest.
- A thumb impression in place of a signature is a reason for rejection.
Step by step
How to resize the RRB NTPC signature
- 1
Sign on white paper
Sign with a black pen on plain white paper and take a clear picture of it. The RRB NTPC size and KB range are already selected.
- 2
Add your picture
Choose the picture from your gallery or take a new one. JPG, PNG, WebP and iPhone HEIC pictures work.
- 3
Crop and adjust
Drag and zoom until the signature fills the box with a little white space around it. Raise the contrast if the ink looks pale.
- 4
Make and download
Press Make. The file comes out inside the allowed KB range, and the tool checks the downloaded file itself: format, KB, pixels and print size for the RRB NTPC form.
Avoid mistakes
Why RRB NTPC uploads get rejected
- The signature is outside 30 to 49 KB, or it is a photo of the whole page instead of a close crop of the signature.
- The signature is blurred, very small inside the picture, or written in capital letters.
- It was signed on lined or coloured paper, or with a pencil or a light pen.
- For the live photo: poor light, a busy background, a cap, mask or glasses, or the face partly outside the frame.
- For the live photo: a picture of an old printed photo or of a screen held in front of the camera.
Tips for a clear signature
- Sign a little larger than usual with a black pen on plain white paper, so the signature stays sharp in a small file.
- Photograph it from straight above in daylight. A tilted or shadowed picture looks blurred once it is made small.
- Crop close: the signature should fill most of the frame, with a thin white margin.
- Before the live photo, sit facing a window in front of a plain wall, keep the phone at eye level and remove cap, mask and glasses.
- Use the same signature you will make at the RRB NTPC exam centre; a mismatch can cancel the candidature.
FAQ
RRB NTPC signature FAQ
What is the RRB NTPC signature size?
at least 140 x 60 pixels, 100 DPI or more, in a 35 x 20 mm box, as a JPG file of 30 to 49 KB. The tool makes it 350 x 200 px. Sign with a black or dark blue pen on plain white paper.
Why is the RRB signature 30 to 49 KB?
That is the range in the 2026 CEN. A signature is usually a much smaller file, so the tool saves it at full quality and adds empty data that viewers ignore to reach 30 KB.
What if my RRB live photo does not match my ID?
The CEN says you then upload the Annexure form signed by a Gazetted Officer. Take the live photo in good light to avoid this.
Are these RRB NTPC rules up to date?
They were last checked on 2026-10-24 against CEN 06/2026 and CEN 07/2026. Rules can change with every notification, so compare them with the latest one on the official website before you upload.
