SSC CGL Signature Resizer
In the SSC CGL form the photo is taken live with your webcam or phone camera, so there is no photo file to resize. The one image you upload is your signature: a JPG of 10 to 20 KB, about 6 cm wide and 2 cm high.
Free, no sign-up. Your photo never leaves your device.

Good to know for SSC CGL
- The photo is captured live in the form by webcam or phone (or the SSC app through a QR code). Old photos and photos of a photo are rejected: sit in good light in front of a plain wall, camera at eye level, no cap, mask or glasses.
- Paragraph 9.6 of the 2026 notice gives the signature as about 6.0 x 2.0 cm, while one annexure says 4.0 x 2.0 cm. The KB range (10 to 20 KB) is the same in both, and that is what the form checks.
Step by step
How to resize the SSC CGL signature
- 1
Sign on white paper
Sign with a black pen on plain white paper and take a clear picture of it. The SSC CGL size and KB range are already selected.
- 2
Add your picture
Choose the picture from your gallery or take a new one. JPG, PNG, WebP and iPhone HEIC pictures work.
- 3
Crop and adjust
Drag and zoom until the signature fills the box with a little white space around it. Raise the contrast if the ink looks pale.
- 4
Make and download
Press Make. The file comes out inside the allowed KB range, and the tool checks the downloaded file itself: format, KB, pixels and print size for the SSC CGL form.
Avoid mistakes
Why SSC CGL uploads get rejected
- The signature is outside 10 to 20 KB, or it is a photo of the whole page instead of a close crop of the signature.
- The signature is blurred, very small inside the picture, or written in capital letters.
- It was signed on lined or coloured paper, or with a pencil or a light pen.
- For the live photo: poor light, a busy background, a cap, mask or glasses, or the face partly outside the frame.
- For the live photo: a picture of an old printed photo or of a screen held in front of the camera.
Tips for a clear signature
- Sign a little larger than usual with a black pen on plain white paper, so the signature stays sharp in a small file.
- Photograph it from straight above in daylight. A tilted or shadowed picture looks blurred once it is made small.
- Crop close: the signature should fill most of the frame, with a thin white margin.
- Before the live photo, sit facing a window in front of a plain wall, keep the phone at eye level and remove cap, mask and glasses.
- Use the same signature you will make at the SSC CGL exam centre; a mismatch can cancel the candidature.
