Overview
Why use this EPUB to PDF converter
This is an EPUB to PDF converter that runs in your browser. There is nothing to install, no account to make and no watermark on the result. It works the same on a phone, a tablet or a computer, so you can convert EPUB to PDF online without Calibre or any other software.
An EPUB is reflowable text: the words rearrange themselves to fit whatever screen you read on, like a website. A PDF has fixed pages. To convert one into the other, the tool reads every chapter of the digital book, then lays the text out on real pages, the way a printed book would be typeset. Chapters start on a new page, headings stay headings, and bold and italic words keep their style.
Your book never leaves your device. The file is opened and converted inside the browser tab, so nothing is uploaded and there is nothing on a server to delete afterwards. That matters for ebooks you bought, review copies, or anything private.
What you get
- Free, with no sign up and no watermark on any page
- Chapters, headings, bold, italics and lists carried over
- Pictures from the book placed in the PDF (JPG and PNG)
- The table of contents saved as PDF bookmarks, so you can jump to any chapter
- Batch conversion: drop several EPUB files and get several PDFs
- A4, Letter, A5 or Legal pages, with your choice of text size and margins
- Works on Android, iPhone, Windows and Mac in any modern browser
- Private: the book is converted on your device, never uploaded
Compare
EPUB vs PDF: which one should you use?
Both are ebook formats, but they are built for different jobs.
| EPUB | ||
|---|---|---|
| Layout | Reflowable: text resizes to fit the screen | Fixed pages that look the same everywhere |
| Best for | Reading on an e-reader or phone app | Printing, sharing and reading on a computer |
| Opens in | Apple Books, Kobo, Google Play Books, e-reader apps | Any browser or PDF reader, on every device |
| Change text size | Yes, any time | Zoom only; the page stays the same |
| Printing | Not really built for it | Prints exactly as you see it |
| Page numbers | Change with the font and screen size | Fixed, so everyone can say "see page 42" |
If you read mostly on a Kobo, in Apple Books or in Google Play Books, keep the EPUB: it is nicer to read on a small screen. Convert to PDF when you want to print a book, send it to someone who has no e-reader app, read it on a laptop, or quote a page number in a class or a meeting.
You can always keep both. Converting does not change your EPUB file.
Tips
Tips for the best conversion quality
- For printing, choose A4 or Letter with Normal margins. For reading on a phone, A5 with a larger text size is easier on the eyes.
- If the book is mostly pictures, such as a comic or a cookbook, check that Include pictures is on before you convert.
- Books bought from a store are often DRM-protected. Only DRM-free EPUB files can be converted; many publishers, Project Gutenberg and Standard Ebooks offer these.
- Converting a long novel on an older phone can take a little while. Keep the tab open until the download starts.
- Use the bookmarks panel in your PDF reader to move between chapters. That is where the table of contents goes.

Good to know
- The book's own design (custom fonts, colours, drop caps and exact spacing) is not copied. The PDF uses clean, standard book fonts so the text is sharp and easy to read.
- Text in Latin-script languages (English, French, Spanish, German and so on) converts fully. Hindi, Arabic, Chinese and other scripts are not supported yet; those letters show as ? and the tool tells you how many there are.
- DRM-protected EPUBs, such as most Kindle and many store-bought books, cannot be opened by any converter without the key. The tool tells you when a book is protected.
- GIF, WebP and SVG pictures are skipped (the picture's description is shown instead, when the book has one). Tables are turned into plain text.
Fix a problem
Troubleshooting
It says the book is DRM-protected
The publisher locked the file to one reading app. Download a DRM-free copy from the store if it offers one, or read it in the app it came with.
Some letters show as ?
The book uses characters the PDF fonts do not have, such as Hindi letters. Latin text in the same book is fine.
The file will not open
Check that it ends in .epub and was fully downloaded. A .mobi, .azw or .azw3 file from Kindle is a different format.
A picture is missing
It may be a GIF, WebP or SVG file, which are skipped. JPG and PNG pictures are always included when Include pictures is on.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert EPUB to PDF for free?
Drop your .epub file on the box above, press Convert to PDF and save the file. It is completely free, with no sign up and no watermark.
Can I convert EPUB to PDF on my phone?
Yes. Open this page in Chrome or Safari, tap Choose EPUB files and pick the book from your Files app or downloads. The PDF is saved to your phone.
Will converting EPUB to PDF lose formatting?
The structure stays: chapters, headings, paragraphs, bold, italics, lists and pictures. The book's own fonts and colours are replaced with clean standard book fonts, because a PDF needs fixed pages.
Is it safe to convert EPUB files online?
Here, yes. The book is converted inside your browser and is never uploaded, so nobody else can see it.
Can I convert DRM-protected EPUB files?
No. DRM locks the book to one app, and removing it is against most stores' terms. The tool tells you when a file is protected. DRM-free books convert normally.
What is the difference between EPUB and PDF?
EPUB text reflows to fit any screen, which suits e-readers. PDF has fixed pages that look the same everywhere, which suits printing and sharing.
Do images stay in the PDF after conversion?
Yes. JPG and PNG pictures from the book are placed in the PDF, scaled to fit the page. You can turn pictures off for a smaller file.
Can I convert multiple EPUB files at once?
Yes. Choose or drop several files together. Each book becomes its own PDF, and you can download them all as one ZIP.
Is there a file size limit?
Up to 100 MB per EPUB, which covers almost every novel and most picture-heavy books. Very large books may be slow on older phones.
Are my files deleted after conversion?
There is nothing to delete: your files are never uploaded. They stay on your device, and closing the tab clears them from the page.
Can I convert a Kindle book to PDF?
Only if it is a DRM-free EPUB. Kindle's own formats (AZW, AZW3 and MOBI) are not EPUB files, and books bought on Kindle are usually DRM-protected.
